An iPod for Everyone - Adriane Peters

 

• Implemented technology awareness sessions 
• Used Title I and various grant $ to buy classroom sets of iPods - various classroom applications, primarily reading but also video
• Important to organize via playlists (video -> video playlists -> educational video)
• Use MovieMaker + sound = 1 file
• Training for administrators, teachers, and others
• Future endeavors:  develop iPod lesson plan database, iPod user group, and identify additional funding sources

Using Internet2 to Enhance the Classroom Teaching Environment - Jack Hall

• The FLR (Florida Lambda Rail) and Internet2 is more than just a faster internet - it changes the way we do things (analogous to the jump from dial-up to cable/DSL only more).  Not only a huge capacity, but peering arrangements allows for increased capacity (currently only using 1 out of 32 available channels)
